Following a rooftop proposal that ended with a remix of their favourite songs and fireworks, Torin and Jezy seized upon a trip to the famed French capital, which was meant for scouting their wedding venue, to also include a spontaneous engagement shoot. These resulting captures by Claire Morris Photography will surely leave an indelible Parisian mark on your hearts.
How did you meet?
“Believe in the magic; don't ignore the person sitting at your table at a wedding, he/she could be your Mr or Mrs Right! We first met in Los Angeles 8 years ago, but we only reconnected at our friend's wedding 2 years ago - we were ‘set up’ to sit at the same table, and that’s when our love story began!” ~ Jezy
What was the proposal like?
“Our proposal story is more like a fairytale dream. The proposal was planned for months and executed by the entire family! From looking for the perfect ring, the story, setup, and bringing all my closest friends and family together, it was the sweetest proposal ever. I was brought up to the rooftop, and when the elevator opened, my favourite flowers, tulips, were right before my eyes, and there were candle lights marking out our initials ‘T & J’. There was a beautiful backdrop of our photos - it was like walking down memory lane, the one of our love story. As you can imagine, I was asked to close my eyes, and when I opened them, it was that cliché moment when all the girls would cover their mouths and act surprised (but I swear I wasn't acting, I was in shock!) He got down on one knee and popped the question, ‘Jezy, will you marry me?’ My mind went blank for a second, and it felt like time froze for a long time until he took out the ring and I said the magic word – ‘YES’! Right at that second, a remix of our favourite songs came on, and guess what, all my family and friends popped out from different corners and right at that moment, fireworks went off on the rooftop! Yes, I got my own fireworks! It was the most romantic proposal ever!” ~ Jezy
What was the inspiration behind your shoot?
“It was right after our engagement that we needed to make a trip to Paris to check out our wedding venue, so I thought why not arrange a quick and easy photo shoot while we are in such a romantic city? So it was a spontaneous idea to just bring a white dress and take some beautiful pictures while we travelled. Claire took us to a couple of her secret sites, and the experience and photos turned out better than we ever expected! We were very lucky to have found Claire Morris via instagram (thanks to my great friend Mimmi for hunting Claire down), and Claire recommended Onorina Jomir of Honorine Makeup Studios. Both of them are extremely professional and talented, and we are all very pleased to see the resulting photos. Especially the one of us posing right in front the Eiffel Tower – that was a perfect moment that Claire captured, a moment that will always be treasured by the both of us!” ~ Jezy
