An Affair to Remember: A Luxurious Styled Shoot at W Singapore

Inspired by one of America’s greatest love stories, today’s styled shoot at W Singapore is without a doubt, an affair to remember. The Wedding Scoop and Caroline of The Wedding Stylist created a heady mix of passion, elegance and sumptuous sensuality by bringing together luxe florals and décor by Fiore Dorato, dramatic gowns by Galia Lahav from The Proposal Bridal, glamorous looks by Juey Huey from The Make Up Room, captivating jewels from Tiffany And Co. and the sweetest dessert table spread by Winifred Kristé Cake and Ladurée. Elevate your senses with these captures by Chen Sands Photography and be sure to read on after the jump for more details about the shoot, and all the vendors that made it possible.

A word from Caroline of The Wedding Stylist and some great tips on how to glam up your wedding without bursting the budget:
"Every styled shoot is always exciting. It allows you to try anything and everything and you are only limited by your imagination. So with The Wedding Scoop, we worked on something we haven’t really done before, to create a wonderfully luxurious shoot. We wanted to focus on bling, glitz and textures but with a touch of softness.

We created three main areas - the ceremony venue, the dinner reception and the dessert table. Our colour palette was made up of ivory, pink, green and gold. We played with lots of textures with the flowers, table linens, chair covers and also the Galia Lahav gowns. We were extremely excited about the flower table runner which the team from Fiore Dorato handmade for the dining table. It was the main showpiece of the shoot, and of course, the dessert table filled with Ladurée macaroons was also another highlight. Pictures speak a thousand words, so I hope you enjoy the beautiful photos captured by Chen Sands Photography.

Here are some ideas on how to incorporate some elements of this styled shoot into your wedding without busting the wallet:

a) Focus on the VIP table and keep the guest tables basic. This allows you to allocate more budget to one area and have an amazing showpiece that everyone will remember instead of 30 average guest centrepieces.
b) Ask the florist to mix artificial and real flowers in the decorations.
c) Create an impactful dessert table using different textures (colours, flowers, table linens, etc). You can even consider DIYing the decorations to save money.
d) Reuse the ceremony area as a photo backdrop during cocktail hour (if the ceremony is just before cocktails).
e) Spend on one amazing dress and forgo the second change. I believe one amazing dress is much better than 2 forgettable dresses.”

A word from Chen of Chen Sands Photography…
“Some say true love is sweet like a fairytale, but it can also be passionate, dramatic and thrilling! Bring this passion to your wedding and indulge your guests to a feast for the eyes. Sensuous and sophisticated, elegant and sumptuous all at the same time. A hint of drama, a whole lot of class. Make it 'an affair to remember'!

When I heard about the amazing ideas and vendors that Caroline from The Wedding Stylist and Leana from The Wedding Scoop had lined up, I thought immediately of the classic romantic films from the golden age of Hollywood. Not directly for the styling of that era, but more about the movies themselves. The love and devotion of the characters, the dramatic set pieces, the elegance of not just the clothes but of the actors who wore them. The SWOONING! This mix of passion, style and luxury was what I wanted to bring out in full through the photo shoot. And wow did Caroline and the team deliver! Absolutely everything surpassed my expectations. Galia Lahav's dresses were even more beautifully adorned than I'd imagined, the silhouettes and daring backs so utterly divine! The floral artistry by Fiore Dorato, so grand and meticulously put together yet still fresh and romantic. And the luxurious touches of to-die-for (and some one-of-a-kind!) jewels from Tiffany & Co along with perfect sweets from Winifred Kriste and Ladurée perfectly completed our 'production'! And last but not least the gorgeous models who emulated those old movie actors to a T! The final set was simply swoon and drool-worthy! We hope they inspire and encourage those brides and grooms who are looking for something that little bit more.”

{A huge "Thank you!" to all the wedding vendors who worked with us to bring this shoot to life! It's a joy to be able to share your wonderful creativity with our community!}
