When we learned that this groom volunteered to undertake most of the wedding preparations himself so that his lovely bride could concentrate on making herself look stunning on the day (and my goodness, did she), our jaws dropped! This tells us dear Wedding Scoopers that a man can definitely plan!
What better reason to travel and see the world when you could also meet your soul mate en route to your destination? This is exactly what happened to Ben and Tammie when on a flight for work to Milan.
“We hung out, we laughed, and I was deeply attracted by her but back in Singapore, we went back to our individual lives. As unromantic and cheesy as it sounds, thanks to modern-day social tools like MSN, and Facebook, we spent endless hours chatting online and finally had our first official date a year after we first met. There was no awkwardness, just an instant connection. And within a year, I was determined to marry this girl of my dreams.” ~ Ben
Ben and Tammie steered away from traditional planning avenues like visiting bridal shows and buying magazines but chose instead to garner inspiration from places like Pinterest. After several unfruitful appointments with hotels, they chanced upon 1-Altitude and decided unanimously that it was the perfect venue!
“Deciding on the venue was only the tip of the iceberg however; there was so much more to be done. I wanted Tammie to focus on making herself the most beautiful bride and hence, I took it upon myself to handle the bulk of the preparation. It was at this point that God sent Grace to my aid. The proud owner of Woodwould, a quirky treasure trove of whimsical stationery carefully curated from all over the world, quickly stepped up to the plate and volunteered her expertise in events and decorations. Her attention to detail and planning truly wowed us. Every single detail, from the theme, songs, right down to the menu cards, were carefully thought out, proposed, and implemented.”
Despite feeling overwhelmed by the planning process at the start, Ben and Tammie were able to kick back and truly enjoy their wedding day. Their words of wisdom for brides and grooms-to-be?
“The big day will come and go in a flash and it is up to the couple to make it a memorable one. A close friend, now married, constantly reminded us to 'enjoy the process'. And we did, thoroughly.”
Congratulations Ben and Tammie!
