An hour away from the City of Love lies the romantic towered and moated Chateau d'Esclimont, where Brayan and Sherine chose to hold their French fête surrounded by acres of woodland. In a day filled with emotion and a theme which incorporated regal shades of purple and blue, the couple exchanged their vows, all the while keeping a dearly departed loved one close at hand and heart in a series of unforgettable captures by Lightedpixels.

How did you meet?
“We met through a blind date set up by our mutual friend and Brayan’s current business partner, Wei, at The St. Regis, which is why we chose to host our Singapore wedding there.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
What was the proposal like?
“It was an intimate proposal at home with a ring set by Sherine’s friend Ira from Mulia Jewellery.” ~ Brayan
What was your theme and colour palette?
“Purple, blue and white was the constant theme across our 3 weddings. Brayan is a big fan of Star Wars so we had sneaky hints of it on our wedding invites that Tandy of Kartoe designed. I would say our key theme was nothing tacky or cheesy.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
How did you decorate your venues? Did you undertake any DIY projects?
“The chateau is stunning by itself so we kept décor to a minimum and let the beauty of the venue speak for itself.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
What sort of wedding favors did you opt for, and why?
“We had Laduree macarons in our favourite colours (as Sherine loves this dessert) as well as Eiffel tower miniatures that guests loved.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
What are some of your favourite memories from the day?
“As Sherine’s mother is not around anymore, we made special effort to have her in our wedding. Her photo was on a charm on the bridal bouquet and we left a seat for her at all our weddings. Brayan’s father had his friends who live in France help source for champagne, white and red wines from the bride and groom’s birth years as a surprise present at the wedding. The best present for us was that all our closest friends and family from around the world gathered in a random place in France to celebrate our special day.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
Do you have any tips and wedding advice for other brides and grooms-to-be?
“Spend on experiences and memories that are important to the couple that are within your means. For us, the best money spent was on the fireworks in France (the company did a great job in customising a fireworks display to 3 of our favourite songs). Having a trio of harp, cello and violin play the music at our ceremony and cocktails in France was also very special as Sherine plays the cello. Sherine also loves oysters and foie gras so having these stations during the cocktails was really cool. It is also very important to have a good photographer and videographer as the memories will stay forever. Do not worry about minor things like the colour of the chairs or if the flowers did not turn out as perfect as you thought. People will remember the laughter and tears, versus how the cake tasted a tad too sweet.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
What do you think makes a strong marriage?
“We are still newly married so we are not in the best position to give advice. However, both sets of our parents have long and happy marriages and we are constantly learning lessons of love from them.” ~ Brayan and Sherine
Congratulations on your marriage, Brayan and Sherine! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
