This couple met in Cambridge and was inspired by the elegance and beauty of Europe, so it seems only fitting that their wedding would be similarly-themed.
Wedding Boutique Phuket dreamt up a vintage European “Key of Love”-inspired celebration on the beachfront lawn of Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, Thailand, for David and Ivy. Captured by Darinimages, this wedding theme came complete with vintage key motifs, shades of Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue, and a vintage door ceremony backdrop opening out into the sea.

A word from the bride…
“I can’t describe the emotions I felt that day. Everything was perfect and we and our guests enjoyed every moment!
The wedding day started with early morning preparations for the Chinese tea ceremony – the first very important moment of the occasion. Serving tea to our parents and families was an act of deep respect and gratitude for all the years of love and care received from them. We loved this moment and it was very emotional.
I laughed so much during the “gatecrash”, especially when my husband-to-be tried to put on my shoes Cinderella-style, declaring his love just after inhaling helium from the balloons – his voice was so funny!
After a quick lunch, we started getting ready for the afternoon’s western wedding ceremony. On my way to the altar, as I was walking down the aisle with over 100 guests waiting for me, I was shaking but I’ll never forget how he looked at me!
When we walked back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs, the smiles of our friends and relatives were the best view we could have ever wished for!
Although our wedding was blessed with rain just after the ceremony, our destination wedding planner was prepared for this eventuality and we had the most enchanting marquee tent! It was perfectly set up on the beachfront lawn and we spent a magical night under thousands of fairy lights and candles. Every single moment was special and unforgettable: we ate, danced, laughed and felt truly grateful and happy for our once-in-a-lifetime day.”
A word from Wedding Boutique Phuket…
“When Ilaire showed David and Ivy the venue, it was love at first sight for the couple. They wanted their event to be European vintage-inspired as they met each other at Cambridge where they both graduated. As an Italian designer and wedding planner, Ilaire proposed the theme “The Key of Love”.
This romantic vintage theme had neutral dusty colours like blush, champagne ivory, dusty grey and “Serenity” blue (Pantone’s Color of the Year 2016) with a touch of gold.
In the afternoon, all the guests moved to the lawn in front of the ocean for the western wedding ceremony. The altar decoration was made with an open vintage door and lush cascading florals and lanterns.”
Congratulations on your marriage, David and Ivy! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
