A few months ago, we wrote about Tamarind Hill, a stand-alone colonial bungalow, in an article for Expat Living titled, "Top 20 wedding venues in Singapore for all sorts of couples". We're very excited about our first wedding feature at this beautiful location in the lush surrounds of Labrador Nature Reserve!
Davin was attending a dance performance and Geri, who was performing, caught his eye. Davin and Geri were then introduced by friends and their relationship grew from there. Davin proposed to Geri while they were on a holiday in the U.S.
“We were at the Grand Canyon in a quiet, private and magnificent viewpoint with our friends. He started off by proposing with a $10 Kate Spade ring he had bought at one of the shopping outlets we had been to but then later knelt down and presented me with the real thing!” ~ Geri
The couple’s colour palette for their wedding was an oriental-inspired mix of black, white and red. Davin and Geri undertook several DIY projects such as creating place cards for each of the guests on paper doilies which were placed in wine glasses and on napkins. Other personalised elements of their wedding included buying black lace gloves for all the bridesmaids and having a tailor sew pocket squares for each of the groomsmen out of red fabric.
In the last week leading up to their wedding, Singapore was feeling the strongest effects of the haze and Davin and Geri had to make the difficult decision to cancel the outdoor dining section of their reception and have guests seated inside the colonial bungalow only. However, things turned out for the best becase the hazy conditions improved on the day of their wedding and the outdoor area they had intended for dining guests was turned into a magical solemnisation venue instead!
“My decorator, together with our lovely friends created an aisle using fairy lights for me to walk in with my dad. I was totally in awe!” ~ Geri
Davin and Geri's advice for couples planning their weddings
“Enjoy the whole process, it’s not just a one day event but a life time’s journey that starts from here!”
Congratulations Davin and Geri!
