Diyang and Jacqueline’s Engagement Shoot in Bled, Prague and Vienna

The beautiful city of Prague is what first drew Singapore-based couple Diyang and Jacqueline to shoot their pre-wedding in Europe, and it’s certainly not hard to see why! This second set of images features photos shot in Bled, Prague and Vienna by Simon Gasparovic and Jana Snuderl, George Hlobil and Lukas Bezila, respectively. Jacqueline’s show-stopping Galia Lahav gown makes a second appearance in Prague; be sure to check out more snaps of the ivory stunner in the couple’s engagement shoot in Budapest, shot by Peter Herman.

What was it like shooting in Vienna, Bled and Prague?
“Vienna was a magical city! The majestic city was filled with hidden gems imbued with its rich culture. Augarten was the perfect backdrop to our casual shoot; the landscaping is beautiful and we loved its laid back vibe. Our shoot in Vienna was by far the easiest one – we just strolled along the city in our casual wear and soaked up the rays of sunshine.

We only decided to shoot at Bled the night before we went there, and it turned out to be the best decision we made the entire trip! We were only there for a single night, so we didn’t intend to shoot there until Diyang suggested that we make the 4-hour drive there more worthwhile. Bled was every bit as dreamy as it is in the photos. The weather happened to be cloudy and misty that morning which made for a very interesting photographic experience. This, coupled with the crystal clear lake and the medieval castle on a cliff, made it seem as if we were in a fairy tale.

Prague was the main reason why we decided to travel to Europe for our pre-wedding shoot. We had long fantasized about Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and Prague Castle. Unfortunately, the sheer number of people (tourists included) was overwhelming so we took to the less traveled streets and alleyways. En route to Prague Castle, we stopped at a few of the less popular (and empty) attractions that our photographer pointed out. Our photographer planned for us to shoot in locations that were spread across a 3-kilometre hike from our hotel to Prague Castle. Navigating the cobbled streets in heels and a massive gown was no easy feat to say the least, but we were eager to take in the sights and sounds along the way as it was our first time visiting the city. Passersby also cheered us on and gave us their well wishes to keep us going! (laughs)”

Do you have any tips and advice for couples planning destination pre-wedding shoots?
“It may not always be necessary to go with the ‘safe’ option of tried and tested photographers. Some of those we worked with were relatively unknown, with nothing but a Facebook page to showcase their work. They turned out to be extremely passionate individuals who were able to produce different yet amazing photos at very reasonable rates.” ~ Jacqueline

Thanks again for sharing your engagement photos with us, Diyang and Jacqueline! We can't wait for your wedding in October!
