Editors' Picks: The Wedding Scoop's 10 Favourite Chaumet Engagement Rings

If there’s one thing that every bride secretly wishes for, it’s to feel like a princess on her wedding day. In this day and age it’s a rare thing to meet and marry an actual prince (but props to Kate and Meaghan for making those dreams come true), but you can go for the next best thing – wearing wedding jewellery fit for a princess.

Chaumet is a French fine jewellery house founded in 1780, and its haute joaillerie has graced the royal weddings of Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais and Empress Marie Louise, as well as celebrities such as Angelababy and Hannah Quinlivan (Jay Chou’s wife) in weddings that were royal in their grandeur.

Everything about Chaumet, from its headquarters at the iconic Place Vendôme in the city of love, to its rich heritage of more than 230 years of hand-made jewellery carefully crafted by fourteen artisans and six jewellers, weaves a heady and intoxicating spell of Old-World romance – the sugar, spice, and all things nice that fairy tales are made of.

With that in mind, our editorial team eagerly devoured Chaumet’s latest catalogue to pick out our favourite engagement rings which will leave you feeling like a princess on your special day.

Joséphine Aigrette Impériale ring
This stunning Joséphine Aigrette Impériale ring features a pear diamond accompanied by a bevy of brilliant-cut diamonds set in a platinum band. We love that the centrepiece is a pear-shaped diamond, and this is a recurring motif in Chaumet’s Joséphine collection.

Joséphine Aigrette ring
This little sister to the Aigrette Impériale is no less magnificent. We love its clean lines which emphasize the pear diamond solitaire and give the ring a contemporary look. As a bonus, it’s also stackable with a matching contoured wedding band.

Liens d’Amour ring
The Liens d’Amour ring below elevates its brilliant-cut 3.18 carat diamond solitaire centrepiece on a pedestal of two links that form the top of the white gold ring set with 150 brilliant-cut pavé diamonds. The “liens” (“link”) is one of Chaumet’s signature motifs and is used to create designs reminiscent of the ribbons and bows loved by Queen Marie-Antoinette. It’s a perfect metaphor for marriage – the joining of two to form something greater than each. How romantic! *sigh* The Liens d’Amour is also available in other precious metals such as platinum, and comes in a variety of stones including pink Madagascan sapphires, padparadscha sapphires, stunning green emeralds, jonquille yellow diamonds, and blue sapphires.

Frisson solitaire ring
The Frisson solitaire is a classic ring with a brilliant-cut diamond solitaire in a prong setting on a platinum band with brilliant-cut pavé diamonds. You’ll never go wrong with a classic design that holds up in every setting from luxe to conservative.

Bee My Love ring
The Bee My Love collection has a special significance – the bee is the symbol of the House of Chaumet as well as the royal and divine power of Napoleon I, and bee motifs have adorned French royal apartments and Chaumet’s most exceptional pieces of jewellery alike.

We like the wedding rings of the Bee My Love collection because the honeycomb-inspired hexagons employed by the bands allow engagement and wedding rings to be easily and perfectly stacked.

Plume solitaire ring
The Plume solitaire features a brilliant-cut diamond set in a platinum band with channel-set pavé diamonds. Like the Frisson, we love the Plume because it’s a classically timeless and elegant design.

Liens Séduction ring
The Liens Séduction ring forgoes the traditional stone centrepiece to instead celebrate the House’s famous “liens” motif with a bow knot centrepiece encrusted with brilliant-cut pavé diamonds. The absence of a central stone may make this an unconventional choice for an engagement ring, but in our eyes it perfectly symbolizes what marriage is all about – two people bound together for life, and all the stronger for it.

Joséphine Aube Printanière
Ok we have a confession, we love pink gold. Pink gold looks good with everything. It’s contemporary, sexy, and classically tasteful all at the same time. This Joséphine Aube Printanière combines a stunning and vibrant pear-shaped pink sapphire with pave diamonds on a pink gold band.

The Joséphine Aube Printanière also comes in other variations, so if you want a clear diamond, fancy yellow diamond, emerald, ruby, or violet sapphire centrepiece on a white gold or platinum band, you can get that too. It’s impossible not to love wearing a little crown on your finger.

Torsade de Chaumet solitaire ring
The Torsade de Chaumet pays solitaire tribute to the spiralling bas reliefs of the iconic Colonne Vendôme (the Vendôme Column) that occupies the centre of Place Vendôme where Chaumet’s headquarters reside.

We love that the unconventional grooves in the ring give it two meanings: superficially it’s a design trait, but if you’re familiar with the Vendôme Column it takes on added significance – just as an engagement ring superficially indicates that you’re engaged, but to the couple it tells a secret story of their love.

Joséphine Eclat Floral ring
If you love the Joséphine collection but want a different-shaped centrepiece, the Joséphine Eclat may be exactly what you’re looking for. It offers a cushion-cut diamond centrepiece balancing on the tip of Chaumet’s signature pear-shaped diamond, which integrates subtly into the top of the ring.

With so many options to choose from, you may need some help figuring out what design to get (decision paralysis when jewellery shopping is a real thing – trust us).
