Every girl’s ultimate shopping experience is arguably searching for and purchasing her dream wedding dress (or dresses!) For one celebration, all eyes will be on you and it’s the perfect opportunity to show off your amazing personality and personal style in a wedding gown that will take your new husband’s breath away. Lucky you! To help you on your way, Leana Doray of The Wedding Scoop has put together her list of top bridal boutiques in Singapore, with some extras on the side, for your sartorial pleasure.

1. Modern Silhouettes – Love, Yu 
Ee-Lyn Tang worked in the banking industry before pursuing her lifelong dream of fashion design. She is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York and started label Love, Yu in 2009. Ee-Lyn specialises in simple, timeless and chic wedding gowns which are now stocked internationally, including the e-boutique Shopbop.com.

Love, Yu’s designs are stocked at multi-label boutique The Prelude Bridal. Gowns range from $2000 - $3800.

2. Bespoke Crafting - Time Taken To Make A Dress
Jade and Letitia’s passion for design lead them to start their own dressmaking shop. They believe women are complex creatures with multifaceted styles and seek to use their experience to create pieces which flatter each individual’s body and show off their personality.

3. Structural, Avant Garde Pieces - Vaughn Tan
Vaughn Tan graduated as a materials engineer but dove straight into making wedding dresses with a bridal boutique. He started his eponymous label in 2006. He is known for his structured designs and high fashion style which are inspired by, amongst other things, architecture. Vaughn’s meticulous attention to fabrics helps create gowns that are sleek, detailed and unconventional.

4. Doyenne - AnnTeoh
Ann Teoh has been designing gowns for over twenty years. Her label strives to create gowns which suit each individual bride’s personality and style for dresses that are timeless, unconventional and comfortable.

Prices average around $3000 for a full-length wedding gown.

5. Designer and Luxury – Belle and Tulle
Belle and Tulle is a newly opened multi-label boutique that features international designers such as Anne Barge, Kenneth Pool by Amsale Aberra, Lela Rose, Elie by Elie Saab, Naem Khan and Romona Keveza. Brides will be able to choose from an array of dresses including romantic ball gowns, fine silk sheaths and mermaid cuts to delicate embroidery with Chantilly lace.

Other boutiques which carry international designer labels include Trinity Gallery (with lines such as Jenny Packham and Monique Lhuillier), The Atelier Bridal (with lines such as Carolina Herrera and Marchesa), The Prelude Bridal (with lines such as Christos and Badgley Mishka), Blessed Brides (Pronovias White One and Rosa Clara), Pois (with lines such as Elie by Elie Saab and Pronovias) and Tirtha Weddings (Andrea Couture). 

6. Iconic – Vera Wang
The news that a Vera Wang Bride boutique is slated to open at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands in the second half of 2014 is sure to set Singapore brides’ hearts a flutter! The influential designer’s collections are known for their sophisticated drama, feminine detailing and modern approach to bridal design (and more recently during her Fall 2014 shows, for shocking colour – pinks!)

7. Couture - Tan Yoong
Tan Yoong has been a fashion designer for over two decades and has won numerous awards for his fantastical and surrealistic creations. For Tan Yoong, what constitutes good bridal design is timeless appeal and his philosophy has always been to design pieces that are simple but stunning, where less is more but not necessarily minimal.

Another designer who creates couture dresses is Frederick Lee.

8. Romantic - Renee L.
Renee Leung studied at the Brookes College of Fashion in LA, California from the age of 17 and upon graduating, began working in the fashion industry as a designer for brands such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Bill Blass and Calvin Klein. 9. Bastion of Local Bridal Fashion – Silhouette The Atelier
Silhouette The Atelier has been in Singapore since 1995 and has been providing brides in Singapore and the region with wedding attire for the past 18 years. They carry a wide range of dresses in different styles (particularly fit-to-flare and ball gowns) but their signature design approach is simple and classic.

10. Wallet-friendly – The Gown Warehouse
The Gown Warehouse was started because of a felt need for a wide variety of beautiful and up to the minute styles at affordable price points. New collections are brought in every quarter and the large space and mirrored stage is conducive for browsing and trying on dresses. Short dresses are about $250 and long dresses are between $500 - $2000.
