Francois and Karis both hail from the fashion industry, so you can imagine the level of attention they paid to the design of their wedding at Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa on the pristine Natai Beach. At the top of the couple’s wish list was something unconventional and nature-inspired. The Wedding Bliss Thailand’s palette of calming sea and froth colours, combined with unique flowers, were a perfect match for the couple's vision as you can see from these beautiful photos by darinimages.
A word from The Wedding Bliss…
“For a creative and active couple like Karis and Francois, a destination wedding was the most appealing way to celebrate their union. Both from the fashion industry (Francois is a designer, and Karis is a marketer for a luxury jewellery brand in Hong Kong), our bride and groom pay close attention to design and wanted something unconventional and nature-inspired — a setup that would blend in perfectly with the overall environment, yet be a statement of their creative, fun and outgoing personalities.
Their love of minimalism and clean lines defined their choice of venue — a modern private villa on Natai Beach close to Phuket. Natural materials of the villa like stone and wood, enhanced with huge glass windows that let in plenty of soft, diffused light inspired us to create this airy styling.
We played around with a few of the couple’s favourite colours to create a final combination of white, gem-blue and natural green that worked perfectly in the organic and modern surroundings. We decided to forgo classic wedding florals, and focused on flowers with quirkier shapes like delphiniums and sea holly that provided a pop of colour against the earthy dusty millers and clouds of baby’s breath.
The main priority was to keep the day as laid-back and relaxed as possible, so once the ceremony was over, guests were invited to kick off their shoes and dip their toes in the sand while enjoying delicious sundowners. The bride and groom were no exception either, and enjoyed this time having a few playful and romantic shots taken by the talented Darin from darinimages.
As the sun went down the horizon it was time to enjoy delicious food back at the villa. The couple’s funky first dance got the party going – it was the moment that the bride and groom were both eagerly anticipating, and they rocked the dancefloor to Love Never Felt So Good by Michael Jackson.”
Congratulations on your marriage, Francois and Karis! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
