Galia Lahav Spring 2019 Queen of Hearts Couture Bridal Collection

Galia Lahav’s 'Queen of Hearts' collection has certainly stolen our hearts. The collection draws inspiration from royal weddings and features regal ball gown silhouettes, voluminous skirts, ruby jewel accents, romantic trains mixed with light and dark tulle, and classic corsets with bold beading.

With sequinned flower petals and elaborate lustrous metal leaves cascading down its pleated skirt, the Aelin is a shimmery silk tulle ballgown with a sheer corset top.

The Allegra dress has a body-hugging bra cup top with off-the-shoulder straps and sheer sides made of a very delicate French lace and beaded floral accents. The bottom is an overtly dramatic and voluminous tulle skirt.

This slinky strapless gown is made of a silver embossed nude colored lycra, and features a high slit and a draped front. A large Swarovski encrusted front detail ties the dress together.

The Emersyn is a slinky mermaid dress with a sheer corseted and hand-embroidered bejewelled top. The bottom of the dress is a fitted silk satin skirt.

The Harlow is a shimmering mermaid dress made of a glistening embroidered scalloped lace, with a hand- embroidered front feature, and a sheer low back.

Regal to its core, the Imperia is an over-the-top satin ballgown with a multi-layered voluminous skirt, a fitted corset top and a big Swarovski crystal bow at the waistline.

A strapless trumpet dress, the Lorraine has a corseted top and a sheer back feature made of embroidered lace and accents that run throughout the front plunge and back.

The Luca is a stunning mermaid gown with a deep plunging v neckline adjourned with hand-beaded embroidery. The dress has sheer sides that are made of a combination of a beaded French lace that lays over an ivory French lace.

This delicate lace column dress has a front slit that is entirely hand-beaded with a coral motiff. The top has a corset construction with a plunging illusion open back and cap sleeves.

The Mia is a dramatic princess ballgown with an elaborate beaded corset top in a revolutionary combination of pink topaz and pebble grey. The dress has an overtly voluminous skirt for added drama.

This hand-beaded mermaid gown has a low cleavage in the front and back, and has unique sheer long sleeves made of crochet beaded lace and a vintage rose pattern.

This fully embroidered majestic half mermaid, half ballgown long sleeve dress is hand crafted with vaporous organza petals and floral motiff embroidery. The dress is further accentuated with tiny Swarovski crystals and sequins.

A word from Galia Lahav:
This bridal fashion week, Galia Lahav presented their spring 2019 collection, which redefines their signature couture glamour. Inspired by the current infatuation with royal weddings, the “Queen of Hearts” collection features regal silhouettes, voluminous skirts, and ruby jewel accents. “This is our first collection with many ball gowns, which is definitely new and special for us,” says Sharon Sever, Galia Lahav head designer. Known for bringing sexy silhouettes to bridal, designers Galia Lahav and Sever decided to introduce a little more modesty and tradition into their brand with their latest range of gowns. “We wanted to represent real princesses of the past and present in a modern way,” says Sever. “We also wanted to give our brides looks what are both timeless and fashion forward.”

In addition to dramatic ball gowns—such as the ethereal “Mia” dress with a shimmery crystal-embroidered fitted bodice and full tulle skirt and the multi-layered satin “Imperia” gown with a large Swarovski crystal-bow detail at the waist and hidden pockets—the collection also includes Galia Lahav’s trademark figure-flattering mermaid gowns with deep plunging necklines, low backs, and sheer lace panels. Two standout looks from the collection are the “Lorraine” embroidered-lace trumpet gown with a deep V-neck and sheer back and the “Allegra” French lace dress with a body-hugging bodice and sweeping tulle skirt.

The gowns with detachable sleeves, trains, and overskirts that allow the bride to change her look from ceremony to after-party are highlights of the collection, such as the “Rhiannon” mermaid gown with detachable illusion long sleeves detailed with crochet beaded lace and the second-dress appropriate “Arden” silver embossed column dress with a detachable tulle train. But the showpiece of the line is the majestic Thea dress, blooming with an allover embroidery of organza floral petals, tiny Swarovski crystals, and sequins. For this extraordinary dress, Sever used his couturier expertise. “I couldn’t find the fabric I wanted for it, so I created it,” says Sever. “One day I just took a large piece of paper and sketched exactly what I envisioned, then took the design to an amazing embroiderer who brought it to life.”

These gowns are for the modern bride who wants to make a statement. “Your wedding day is a very big moment in your life,” says Sever. “It’s every girl’s dream and the one day that you get to wear such a special dress.”
