This sweet couple wanted their wedding to be a true celebration and every single detail was designed to bring their guests maximum joy! The Wedding Scoop Team can't help but continue to revel in each beautifully captured image and colourful detail and with every new viewing, we discover another element to love!
Huanmin and Jia Yin met eight years ago through a mutual friend while Huanmin was in the army. They didn’t hit it off that day but as fate would have it, they bumped into each other again a year later and it was then that they started talking and going out.
Huanmin asked Jia Yin to be his girlfriend a few months after that fateful second meeting and later proposed to her in a private, quiet affair at Naumi Hotel Singapore with the help of his brother and a few close friends.
The couple wanted a wedding that was centered around a celebration of love, their family and friends. Huanmin and Jia Yin decided to split the events into two smaller, more intimate affairs with lunch on the first day for their families at Regent Singapore and dinner for friends on the second day.
They came across Food For Thought at Singapore Botanic Gardens by chance after several months of searching and instantly fell in love with the venue.
“The space was perfect, the food was wholesome and Joyce, Jamie and team embodied everything that we were hoping for - sincerity and loads of passion for their beliefs. So we decided on the spot that it had to be there.” ~ Huanmin
Most of the gorgeous, crafty embellishments seen in the wedding images were lovingly put together by the couple with some help from their friends. Huanmin and Jia Yin wanted to DIY as much of their wedding as possible because they knew their guests would appreciate small personal touches.
“We didn't want a lavish wedding, just something we could look back on when we're old and crinkly and laugh about. We were not really going with a theme so we just went ahead with the idea of a smashing get-together where friends could mingle and reminisce - sort of like a house party on a larger scale. We got our friends to do the hosting, we got drinks, a rock band, and a photo booth so everyone could go a little crazy. We ate heartily, played silly games and shared too many laughs and beers! We wanted all our guests to take home a slice of happiness, because that's what a celebration should be about.” ~ Huanmin
Congratulations Huanmin and Jia Yin!
