Before tying the knot, Jason and Kim, along with a few friends, decided to take a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney to meet with Jenny Sun for their pre-wedding shoot. Shot at Centennial Park, the couple (whose first wedding was at Enderong Resort) lit up for the lens and it was as if time stood still just for them.
What was the inspiration behind your shoot?
“Jenny Sun is one of my favourite photographers in Australia; I really love how she uses lots of natural light in her pictures. For our engagement shoot, we wanted something simple – just the two of us amidst nature, celebrating our love without the fancy props.
I wanted a portion of the shoot to be taken with us donning formalwear (but nothing to over the top) and another, more casual one. I love Taylor Swift, hence the red lips and striped top for the casual shoot.
We flew from Melbourne to Sydney to meet with Jenny and her team for this engagement session. Centennial Park was the perfect backdrop; we loved how the pictures turned out.” ~ Kim
Do you have any interesting moments or stories to share from the day of the shoot?
“We flew to Sydney solely to meet Jenny for this shoot. As she is based there, we thought it'd be easier for us all – a trip to Sydney for a few days wouldn't hurt as well!
We got another couple of friends of ours to tag along on this mini road trip and we had a swell time! One of my besties actually came on set with us and helped us to carry our props and coats. Bless her kind soul; we are so grateful she came along!
We started really early at around 5am and it was absolutely freezing! I think it was 5 degrees or so then. You couldn't tell from the pictures that we were shivering with the very few layers that we had on. Another fun fact: I was barefoot most of the time in this shoot!” ~ Kim
Thank you for sharing these beautiful images with us, Jason and Kim!
