You saw Jia Ming and Whey Jinn’s cheese-filled wedding solemnisation on the blog last week; today we’ve got pictures from the couple's Malaysia wedding reception at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, as captured by Arch & Vow Studio and planned by Moments. Wishing Tree decorated the ballroom beautifully with lush floral arches and willowy centrepieces that culminated in a towering main table arrangement that complemented the regal venue.
How did you propose?
“I told Whey Jinn that my mom had won a free trip to Phuket but couldn’t make it – little did she know, the trip was planned three months prior. She had no clue what the trip was actually for, and she didn’t suspect a thing until she was presented with a ‘menu’ that turned out to be a photo book showing our journey together as a couple. I’d say she was definitely caught off guard!” ~ Jia Ming
What was the theme of your wedding?
“Whey Jinn loves marble, so the ballroom at The St. Regis was the perfect venue for us. It had marble everywhere and Moments gave us many styling options to choose from. We looked through Pinterest for some wedding theme ideas, but in the end we decided that less is more and went for something simple yet timeless. Instead of having flowers everywhere, we wanted to highlight the beauty of the ballroom venue.” ~ Jia Ming and Whey Jinn
How did you decorate your venue?
“We didn’t have any time for DIY projects due to the nature of our work, so we entrusted Moments with the planning and coordination of our wedding. They understood exactly what we wanted, and we couldn’t be more grateful to them for making our wedding planning journey a smooth one. Wishing Tree executed everything perfectly as well – from the photo booth backdrop and aisle decorations to the main table arrangements.” ~ Jia Ming and Whey Jinn
Any tips or wedding advice for other brides and grooms-to-be?
“The first thing on your list should be booking all your wedding vendours. The good ones are booked as early as a year ahead! It’s worth spending some time to do some research to find the best in the industry to ensure a smooth journey ahead. Be sure to go through photos and videos of your vendors’ previous work; reading the feedback they’ve received from other couples can be helpful too, where possible. We would recommend all our vendors to everyone.
Save money where you can, and remember that you can always get a few things off of Taobao! Use Google spreadsheets to help you keep track of your progress as you go along.” ~ Jia Ming and Whey Jinn
Congratulations once again on your marriage, Jia Ming and Whey Jinn! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
