Kenn and Evelyn knew that the Delamere Manor in Cheshire, England would be the perfect venue for their wedding the moment they laid eyes on the estate’s regal wrought iron gates. The Manchester-based couple’s rustic luxe-themed destination wedding was planned by Carmen Weddings and captured by Kylee Yee Photography. We especially love the bride’s winged Sophia Webster heels and her bridesmaids’ rose gold and blush ensembles!
And just in case you missed it, be sure to see the pictures from Kenn and Evelyn's Malaysia wedding reception here.

A word from Carmen of Carmen Weddings...
"Planning Evelyn and Kenn’s wedding was such a joy! They had great vision; they knew that they wanted a pretty, romantic and intimate celebration, and really wanted a day which was as much about their guests as it was about themselves.
I worked with Evelyn and Kenn from the beginning of their planning journey, which meant I had a fresh canvas to work from. I was also given the opportunity to search the country for the right venue – it was incredibly exciting! We travelled throughout England to find a venue which they felt would be right for them, and finally fell for one close to where they currently live – Delamere Manor in beautiful Cheshire, England.
Delamere Manor offered us exclusive use of the venue. They had wonderful space for Evelyn and Kenn's special day, along with the stunning Folly where they were able to have their ‘First Look’!
Evelyn had great vision and I thoroughly enjoyed bringing it to life in the various spaces within the venue, and working alongside their fantastic team. A lot of the focus was on the courtyard – where ceremony and dinner took place. With the talented florists of Fletcher & Foley and the styling experts of Posh Frock and Wellies, we transformed the courtyard into a romantic, enchanted garden. Fletcher & Foley worked on installing the magnificent foliage wall; the wall was completely covered from ceiling to floor, and romantic draping and foliage were also installed on the ceiling.
For the ceremony, flowers like King Proteas and David Austin Roses were chosen for the ceremony arch. The same flowers were also featured in the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. A similar style was used to ensure it flowed throughout the day. We added some pretty and quirky details, such as the library card cabinet for table seating plan, calligraphy signage to welcome guests, and balloons in a range of rose gold, pink and white shades to match the colour scheme.
Evie and Kenn also wanted to incorporate a few sweet Chinese traditions into their wedding, such as 'Fetching of the Bride' or 'gate crash'. We had secretly taken Evie from the Manor to the Folly, and once the games were complete, it was so much fun to see Kenn unable to locate his bride!
This day was about creating a beautiful setting and great atmosphere for this sweet couple and all of their loved ones. My love for a pretty and intimate wedding came to life in absolute perfection, for a most wonderful couple on this very day."
What was the theme of your wedding?
“After Kenn's romantic proposal on Pont Des Arts, he had always joked about wanting a Twilight-themed wedding, while I wanted something more rustic luxe. For months I looked through dozens of wedding venues online, but they were either too expensive, too old or not our style. Just as I was about to lose hope, a new wedding venue popped up on my Google search and it was just 21 miles away from us!
The venue was perfect: it was a manor surrounded by 100 acres of English countryside. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a majestic wrought iron gate which opened up to a driveway lined with trees that went up a little hill to where the beautiful manor sits overlooking its vast grounds, including a lake that hosts a wide variety of wildlife, like horses, swans and ducks.” ~ Evelyn
How did you decorate your venues? Did you undertake any DIY projects?
“It was simply the perfect setting for our wedding! The Delamere Manor team (Rosie, especially) was fantastic; the bridal party was given access to the manor for three days and two nights. This gave us the opportunity to decorate the house with personal touches and hold a rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding. Kenn and I even managed to sneak in a practice session of our first dance before we said our last good night as an engaged couple and adjourned to our respective suites.
Being onsite was great because we were able to wake up late and enjoy the complimentary breakfast (mine delivered to my suite). We took our time to prepare ourselves, and yet we still enough time for our ‘gate crash'. The game led Kenn to a secret location where we had our ‘first look’ before getting whisked away by Kylee, our photographer, for our portrait photo shoot.
The wedding ceremony was set in the new orangery that was transformed by Jo from Fletcher & Foley and Posh Frocks and Wellies into a romantic rustic indoor garden.
They later transformed the same area into a beautiful dining area for our wedding breakfast.” ~ Evelyn
What sort of wedding favors did you opt for, and why?
“For our wedding favours, I opted for rose gold potted roses and succulents labeled with personalised laser cut names on sticks. I chose them because I thought that the favours could also serve as table décor.” ~ Evelyn
Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
“One of the funniest moments of our wedding happened when my godbrother walked me down the aisle. He was so nervous then that when the wedding registrar asked if he would give my hand in marriage, he blurted out ‘I do’. The whole place erupted into laughter.” ~ Evelyn
What are some of your favourite memories from the day?
“My favourite moment was our first dance. I love to dance but I have always struggled to convince Kenn to take ballroom dancing lessons with me. For the wedding, I managed to convince him to learn a waltz just so I could have one dance with him, even only just once.” ~ Evelyn
Any tips or wedding advice for other brides and grooms-to-be who are thinking of planning destination weddings?
“If you're thinking of organising a destination wedding, I would recommend that you hire a wedding planner because it will take away a lot of the stress from you. Not only do they have the right contacts, they'll be able to help you manage the logistic side of things and bring your vision to life. Our wedding planner even helped us keep to our budget.” ~ Evelyn
