Hong Kong-based lovebirds Kenneth and Tammy decided to tie the knot in an open-air seaside lawn wedding ceremony at the luxurious Paresa Phuket resort in Phuket, Thailand.
Planned and styled by Wedding Boutique Phuket and captured by Phuket-based Darinimages and Tichakorn Cinematography, the wedding was a beautifully arranged affair from start to finish, with a purple circular floral arch and stylish vintage-y touches throughout, infusing every venue with a charming, romantic air.
A word from Wedding Boutique Phuket:
“Tammy and Kenneth seem like the sweetest couple living a modern-day fairy tale. Their wedding and their union have been blessed by fate since the beginning. Wanna know how?
In 2009, Tammy was living in Los Angeles attending the University of Southern California and Kenneth had just graduated and moved to Los Angeles to work. They lead separate lives, not knowing each other. Seven years later, back in Hong Kong, fate made their paths cross, and they found out they were actually living in the same building while in Los Angeles!
A few years later, after she said “yes”, the couple decided to hold their destination wedding in Phuket, a place they had visited for holidays and really loved. After having contacted several wedding planners on the island, it was their turn to meet the Wedding Boutique Phuket team.
At their first appointment, Ilaire, the wedding planner and founder of the company, found out that both she and Tammy, the bride-to-be, come from the same fashion industry background, which is also a common passion. Fate struck again! It was love at first sight between planner and bride, so they decided to create a unique fashion meets vintage-style wedding.
Inspired by this magical story, Wedding Boutique Phuket made their wedding an unforgettable one in every aspect. Ilaire personally went to Europe after a few months to research and collect many special fashionable vintage items to include in the set-up.
The registration table was set up with spools of thread, buttons and a mini sewing machine, with a vintage suitcase as their card box. An old-fashioned mannequin was used as seat chart, while old prints of famous fashion designers that were purchased in New York were used as the table numbers. Even the photo booth corner was decorated with ‘20s vintage props that were bought in London flea markets.
A special treat for all the guests was the “floral tea corner” for girls, decorated with vintage English teapots and cups, and the “gentleman bar” with cigars and selected liquors for the boys.
Uncommonly seen flowers, hundreds of candles, shades of purple (a colour that means “metamorphosis”), emphasised by the sound of the violin and the circular arch overlooking the Andaman Sea – all these created a surreal atmosphere. By the end of the ceremony, a dramatic sunset at the Miracle Lawn in Paresa Phuket gave everyone the feeling that time had been suspended.
When the guests entered the dinner venue, which had been decorated with cascading fairy lights, candles, candelabras, floral runners, and hanging bird cages with lights, they all said: “Wow, this is really Tammy’s fairy tale!”
How did this magical wedding end? With live music, lots of sparklers, and of course… fireworks! There was a glittering explosion of smiles and tears of joy from Tammy and Kenneth and all their loved ones.”
And a word from Tammy:
“When Kenneth and I started out looking for a wedding planner in Phuket, we weren’t aiming for a company with a track record of throwing hundreds of extravagant weddings, but one that really understood our visions and one that was truly dedicated to making our wedding unique for us.
Ila stood out from all the planners we met. Her passion for creating beautiful things, tenacity, and high standards showed through during our first meeting. Unlike most planners, Ila does not opt for the easy way out. She goes the extra extra mile to ensure the best results. Ila is an artist and her artist’s persistence defines her work. That’s why there is so much personality in all her work, something others cannot replicate. She truly went above and beyond our expectations.”
Congratulations on your marriage, Kenneth and Tammy! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
