Mario and Vanessa’s Whimsical Seaside Wedding In Phuket

A destination wedding in Phuket, Thailand was everything Mario and Vanessa wanted – and more.

Planned and styled by Wedding Boutique Phuket and shot by Phuket-based photographers Nindka Wedding Photojournalist and Adriano Trapani aka Phuket Paparazzi, the wedding ceremony at Paresa Resort Phuket was held outdoors, with a blush circular floral arch, puffy white clouds and a stunning sunset serving as the perfect backdrops.

Afterwards, the wedding party continued the merry-making with an elegant dinner reception, cake-cutting ceremony held under twinkling fairy lights, and magnificent fireworks show.

About the wedding:
A lush green lawn and flowers in soft pastel hues set the tone for this romantic wedding by the Andaman Sea. The round floral wedding arch was a visually arresting sight, as was the larger-than-life alphabet letters spelling out “amor” (Spanish for “love”).

For the evening celebrations, gold-and-white serving-ware contributed an air of sophistication, while the outdoor cake-cutting filled with fairy lights and gilded birdcages hanging from tree branches added a touch of whimsy.

A word from Vanessa:
Mario and I are both Portuguese. We are currently living in Macau, and we decided to hold the wedding at Paresa Resort Phuket, Thailand because the venue is unique and gives you a five-star panoramic view from the cliff.

We wanted to do something different that was unforgettable not just for the both of us, but for our family and friends who were coming from all around the world. It was also a mini getaway for all of us to get together, relax and have fun.

We were searching for potential wedding planners to help and guide us. We wanted someone who was able to provide us with ideas, was always reachable, but would also let us freely execute what we had in mind for our dream wedding.

We found Ilaire from Wedding Boutique Phuket, and she made me (Vanessa) feel so excited and motivated in planning the wedding of our dreams from day one. I was happy to be planning the wedding with her and imagining how our ideas would become reality on our big day.

It turned out to be the most amazing day of our lives! The colour palette of the wedding was blush, with lots of real flowers and greens everywhere, a huge flower arch at the most amazing venue overlooking a panoramic sea view with a beautiful sunset, floating balloons bearing photos with our favorite love quotes, lots of photo opportunities with our favourite word “amor”, fun photo booths, a dance floor with a DJ, and fireworks.

We DIY-ed the invitations, the hangers for the suit and the gown, and the wedding favours, which featured our guests’ names crafted out of wood. My gown was a special design and tailor-made by my good friend Sofia. It was really like a dream come true!

We wanted to have a day that Mario and I and all our guests would never forget. Ilaire, including her team from Wedding Boutique Phuket, the staff from Paresa Resort Phuket, and all our family and friends made this wonderful day of ours more meaningful than we could ever have expected. Thank you ALL!

Congratulations on your marriage, Mario and Vanessa! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
