Theirs was a love story 14 years in the making - fashion blogger Melissa Koh recently said “YES” to her sweetheart James Chen when he surprised her with a proposal at the church where they first met. Against a sweet blush setup with touches of gold styled by Med Karlek Inc., photographer Melvin of Multifolds Photography captured every precious moment between the two. We couldn’t be happier for the lovebirds and were thrilled to play a part in helping Melissa find the ring of her dreams!
And another little look at the bride-to-be’s lovely engagement ring…
A word from Melissa…
"I said ‘YES’ to spending forever with the love of my life, my best friend, my rock & shelter, my everything. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect proposal – at a place where we met 14 years ago, in the presence of family and friends that watched us grow.
Everything in this life has led me straight to you. You're forever my always."
A word from James…
"14 years ago, if someone had told me that I’d one day propose and get engaged to Mel, I would have politely insisted that he were crazy and would brush away the comment only to catch myself daydreaming a few minutes later, thinking to myself, ‘what if me and my (then) major schoolboy crush really got engaged one day?'
14 years later and the questions on my mind became more task-oriented than speculative. ‘How, where and when do I pop the question?’
Blessed with the help of our many common (and talented) friends, I proved my 13-year-old self wrong and made what was then a far-fetched fantasy a reality, in this very place we first met!
She said ‘YES’!
And I’m living the dream.”
Thank you for sharing your sweet photos with us, Melissa and James, and warmest congratulations on your engagement!
