Do you remember Mingy and Julia from their lovely tea plantation engagement session? Well, the cosmopolitan couple recently tied the knot in a small town called Shehong in the Sichuan province of China. Shot once again by Rafael of Elikon Picture, the couple said their 'I Dos' in the dark yet incredibly romantic atmosphere of a hotel ballroom all decked out in red and gold. Also not to be missed are Julia's stunning wedding gowns designed by one of our former featured brides, Anseina. Suffice to say that we're in love!

A word from Mingy and Julia…
“We did have a lot of ideas for our wedding, but we knew that we would not have enough time to prepare all the décor DIY. Luckily, we have friends and a wonderful wedding planner who understood our preferences and helped us to bring all our ideas to life. They started the preparation more than 6 months before the big day, and we really appreciate all the effort they put into the wedding.
The results turned out to be very romantic. The indoor wedding party was touching; it was an incredibly happy day for us. We will never forget the moment when the warm light shone on the tears and smiles of our guests (us included). The outdoor photo and video session beside the Luo Lake in Shehong was also wonderful. Spending a few moments with our entourage on a spring afternoon with a beautiful sky and a fresh breeze was a relaxing way to end our wedding day.
As with most weddings in China, the schedule of the wedding lunch and reception was super tight. Still, we managed to talk to all our guests, even for only a few seconds. It has been quite a few years since the last time we saw many of them, so we made sure to take the time to exchange a few words.
Nothing could be better than knowing that our parents enjoyed the wedding as much as we did. Julia almost cried when she saw the photo slide show Rafael made, because of all the touching moments that were captured on those frames. The beauty of a photograph is being able to capture and preserve the most important moments in our lives. We are so lucky to have Rafael; he travelled all the way from Jakarta to shoot our big day, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of that.”
A word from Elikon Picture…
“Shooting Mingy and Julia’s wedding was really thrilling. They have wonderful friends who came from across China and around the globe.
Shooting a wedding in a small city like Shehong in the central Sichuan province of China was really eye-opening for me, as I was blessed with the hospitality of locals like Mingy and Julia and their friends. I will always remember their kindness and the trust they placed in me. I remember that when I suggested making a drastic change to the lighting in the hall at midnight on the day of the wedding, Julia said to me: ‘We trust you and that’s why we had you fly here from Jakarta.’
Their wedding reception was filled with so much emotion, especially during their personal testimonies and how they embraced each other after that. Those were truly memorable moments that I was able to capture and share with them.”
Congratulations on your marriage, Mingy and Julia! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
