The Wedding Scoop’s Wedding Planning Schedule - Three Months to One Month

Without a doubt, you will have lots of information to keep track of as you plan your big day. We designed this wedding checklist to be by your side throughout this process. As you plan, you’ll probably find that some points on the schedule work better for you than others, or you may hit milestones a little earlier or later than what we have set out - so change it up and do what makes sense for your own wedding.


Three Months to One Month

  • Finalise guest list
  • Book wedding car and any other transportation required such as transport for guests
  • Select wedding music for solemnisation/ceremony, walk-ins, first dance, background entertainment, live performances, etc.
  • Get the necessary music licenses (if applicable)
  • File a Notice of Marriage with the Registry of Marriages. Make sure you attend your subsequent appointment for the Verification of Documents/Statutory Declaration
  • Print invitations and wedding solemnisation programmes, and mail invitations
  • Prepare or print place cards for reception
  • Begin preparing itinerary/schedule for flow of events on wedding day, including details on who is overseeing each event and event timings
  • Finalise cultural and/or religious elements of the wedding (if applicable)
  • Follow-up with guests who have not RSVP-ed
  • Meet with solemniser/officiant to finalise details of ceremony
  • Begin drafting wedding vows and speeches
  • Confirm post-wedding pickup timings with vendors and collection dates for vendors with deliverables
  • Purchase wedding rings
  • Purchase miscellaneous accessories like ring pillows
  • Purchase gifts for wedding party, parents and each other
  • Finalize and purchase or pick up wedding jewellery
  • Appoint ring-bearers to carry The Preciousssssssss
  • Finalise cake design
  • Schedule tasting with caterer and finalise menu
  • Attend fittings for bridal gown and tuxedo suit
  • Consider having your parents coordinate their outfits
  • Finalise make-up and hair styles with make-up and hair stylist
  • Take pre-wedding photos and/or video
  • Prepare growing-up/couple’s video montage
  • Give photographer a list of your “must-have” photos and work out what family portraits need to be taken and in what order
  • Find something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue
  • Practice dances in full performance attire, including heels (if applicable)
  • Confirm and book honeymoon


Note: Consider raising your credit card limit to accommodate wedding expenses before you begin making final payments.
