Ken and Jessica’s magical Disney celebration put us under a spell and the enchantment continues with their Ritz-Carlton ballroom wedding banquet photographed by Lightedpixels Photography and planned by Our Fairytale Wedding, with its unforgettable entrance by the bride in light-up fairy wings and cake-cutting ceremony highlighted with pyrotechnics.
How did you meet?
“We met in a college in Los Angeles, California, USA and dated for 10 years until our wedding.” ~ Jessica
What was the proposal like?
“Ken brought us back to the college where we first met during a trip to LA. He went down on one knee where there was a stunning night view of the Los Angeles harbour.” ~ Jessica
What was your theme and colour palette?
“The theme was fantasy and romantic elegance with white, touches of pink, gold and crystals.” ~ Jessica
Did you undertake any DIY projects?
“We discussed with the wedding planner and Boenga about our ideas and visions to come up with the decoration ideas. The menu was DIY – I created a newspaper theme for the menu and sent the copy to our wedding consultant from Ritz-Carlton which she kindly printed for us. The table numbers were also DIY, we printed the table numbers on copies of our pre-wedding photographs. The guests’ names on each seat were also DIY - each name was handwritten on a butterfly-shaped card and placed on a wine glass. The guitars for guests to pen their well-wishes were custom-made too as Ken is a guitar lover.” ~ Jessica
What sort of wedding favors did you opt for, and why?
“I am a practical bride therefore I opted for a favour that guests could keep and use instead of discarding them. My mother has a friend in Swarovski so we ordered hundreds of their pens for our wedding favours. We ordered them in black, white and pink so not everybody got the same colour.” ~ Jessica
Do you have any other stories you’d like to share with us?
“We had our solemnisation at Disneyland hotel in Los Angeles! Complete with the Cinderella carriage, Mickey, Minnie, an animation cake and photo shoots inside the Disney theme park.” ~ Jessica
What do you think makes a strong marriage?
"Learn to understand and ease your partner’s insecurities and fears, this will help build a strong marriage. After all, marriage is not only about love, but also about partnership.” ~ Jessica
Congratulations again on your marriage, Ken and Jessica! May it be every bit as magical as your weddings in Singapore and Disneyland!
