Vincent and Veron decided on a winter wedding theme, and worked with The Wedding Entourage and Boenga to decorate The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore’s ballroom so that it matched Veron’s wedding gown, which featured hand painted glow-in-the-dark flowers from Tiara Bridal. The couple’s first march-in was made magical with the bride in her glowing gown, groom with his LED pocket square, flower girls in glow-in-the-dark dresses, and a page boy with an LED bow tie, photographed by Altissimo Studios.

How did you meet?
“We met through a mutual friend who is an ex-colleague of our drinking buddy.” ~ Vincent and Veron
What was your theme and colour palette?
“The theme was glow-in-the-dark and wintery with white, silver and blue touches. We decided on this colour palette very early on as we both like blue and wanted to have it in our wedding.” ~ Vincent and Veron
How did you decorate your venues? Did you undertake any DIY projects?
“We worked with The Wedding Entourage and Boenga to decorate our venue. The Wedding Entourage conceptualised the theme based on what we wanted and worked with Boenga to create the whole look of the wedding. We also wanted it to match Veron’s custom gown from Tiara Bridal, which was a glow-in-the-dark gown with hand-embellished lace, flowers, beads and butterflies. Veron worked with Ling from Tiara Bridal for months to make sure that the floral embellishments glowed beautifully in blue.
There was a photobooth at the foyer with large butterflies that popped out, tall centerpieces along the aisle, and a wintery tree centerpiece on the main bridal table that matched the winter-themed décor on the stage. The florals on pedestals lining the aisle had fairylights in them to create the glowing look that we wanted, and this was the same for the guest table centerpieces as well. The stationery (menus and favours) was also customised to match the whole look with florals and butteflies on it. Veron loves kids and so she put together a goodie bag for the kids which consisted of a dining set, lollipops and bubbles, which the kids really loved.
Our first march-in was really memorable as we had the ballroom completely dark so that Veron’s gown could really glow in the dark. Vincent wore an LED pocket square, the flower girls had glow in the dark dresses and the page boy had a cute LED bow tie.
We love drinking as well so having a bar was really important to us (especially for Vincent). We had a lighted LED bar to match the glow-in-the-dark theme and also had ice balls which we served whiskey in. The bar was stocked with our favourites such as Hibiki, Macallan, Jagermeister and there was free flow champagne throughout the evening. On top of that, we danced in during our 2nd march in to ‘Cake by the Ocean’ with our entourage and our friends. We had a Jägerbomb train lined in a V shape as we didn’t just want the usual champagne tower. It was a lot of fun and many guests danced along as well. Then we had an after party with a DJ at the Grand Gallery until 2am.” ~ Vincent and Veron
What sort of wedding favours did you opt for, and why?
“We gave away custom bottles of laksa and sambal onion paste as they are from Veron’s family business (Vismark). They were very popular amongst the guests, and we even had guests who asked for more after the wedding! No bottles were left behind.” ~ Vincent and Veron
Do you have any tips and wedding advice for other brides and grooms-to-be?
“Try to pace your wedding planning to make sure that you are comfortable and not stressed out during the planning process. It’s good to have a timeline and to keep to it throughout planning.
It’s also very important to work out a budget for every item to make sure that you do not overspend.” ~ Vincent and Veron
What do you think makes a strong marriage?
“To be independent as individuals, but to have mutual understanding and to think as a couple. To always be flexible according to situations you face, but still stand strong in your own beliefs. To have similar interests and most importantly, to trust one another.” ~ Vincent and Veron
