Timelessly Elegant Pre-Wedding Inspiration at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”
 – Audrey Hepburn

Once a hub for glamorous social events and official government receptions, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur still exudes an aura of stately elegance today.

Our pre-wedding styled shoot highlights the hotel’s charmingly colonial beauty, with Malaysian influencers (and real life couple) Alicia Tan (@aliciatal) and Joseph Germani (@josephgermani) showcasing classy, elegant looks that fashion-forward brides and grooms-to-be will be obsessed with!

These beautiful images would not be possible without photography by Lightedpixels Photography, videography by XD Studios, styling by Soirée Lab, florals by Daun & Petals, dresses by Wedding Isle, suits by David & Co. Tailor, lingerie by Jujumello Intimates, accessories by TSL Jewellery, shoes by The White Atelier, stationery by Thistle Cards, hair and makeup by Rynee Tan and a wedding cake by Little Collins Cakery & Cafe.

A word from Hui Wen from Soiree Lab:
“Inspired by our styled shoot location, Majestic Hotel KL, we from Soiree Lab wanted to marry the allure of elegant, colonial details with a modern, architectural design. Despite the modern edge, we still wanted to convey a sense of softness and romance. Hence, the color palette was mostly kept neutral with hints of blush. We designed this shoot with a stylish, thoughtful bride in mind—one who appreciates the contrasts of new vs old, minimalism vs grandeur and softness vs edge.

For the ceremony, an opulent colonial-style chandelier adorned the sleek gold arch, lending an old-world charm to the setting. Contemporary, structural florals by Daun + Petal were accented with cascading orchids – a signature colonial hallmark. It is worth it to mention that the sleek cake by Little Collins KL adopted similar orchid details on a clean blush base with gold speckles. The ceremony aisle was then dressed with dimensional, modern floral arrangements and vintage gold candle stands, flanked by colonial rattan chairs.

After getting ready in classic bridal robes by Jujumello Intimates, old-school glamour curls by Rynee Tan Make-Up and an exquisite beaded gown by Wedding Isle on Alicia Tan, the entire look contrasted brilliantly with the modern bouquet featuring cascading orchids. Mesh pumps made with polka-dotted fabric and embroidered 3D lace by The White Atelier, and elegant jewellery from TSL Jewellery completed the ethereal, old-worldly look. Joseph Germani donned a contrast lapel dinner jacket by David & Co., reminiscent of the extravagant dinner parties held at The Majestic Hotel in the past.

Neutral tones continued to prevail for the sweetheart table. Brass lanterns, vintage candle holders, taupe linens, and neutral pottery vases contrasted with the modern ghost chairs and textured floral arrangement. Colonial-inspired plates were laid on sand-hued rattan placemats, accented with brass cutlery and antique-esque glassware.

Thistle Cards knocked the ball out of the park with the paper stationery. Colonial pillars of the hotel were illustrated on the menus, which featured delicate gold-leaf edges. For the invitation suite, they handmade a hard-cover “booklet” featuring structural paper flowers, which opened up to sleek detail cards inside.

Following the vein of structural florals, The White Atelier crafted classic off-white silk stilettos with a twist, by featuring origami Magnolias completed with rose gold metallic heels for an added edge. The shoes were simple with a statement, befitting for a modern-day Cinderella!

Contrasts are what we are after—hence a seemingly classic lace embroidery dress by Wedding Isle with a dramatic detachable tulle skirt was elevated with a one-of-a-kind structural floral crown made by Daun + Petal, making for some pretty stunning bridal portraits.”
