Wedding Favours for a Good Cause: Edible Treats From MINDS Bakers

Just in time for #GivingTuesday, we have a charitable wedding idea styled shoot to share with you. The Wedding Scoop was delighted to conceptualise and co-produce this shoot to show readers how they can give back while wedding planning and use their celebration as a way of bringing a little good into the world. With prettily packaged edible wedding favours including cookies and honey made by persons with special needs from our adopted charity, the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), saying “I do” to doing good and hosting a socially conscious wedding day is easy!

We’re proud to have collaborated with Chen Sands Photography, Wedrock Weddings, Hello Flowers, and Rekord Haus on this inspiring styled shoot.

About MINDS Bakers
In 2012, MINDS Bakers began as a therapy programme to cultivate positive work behaviour in our beneficiaries.

We started with a small team of 5 beneficiaries and 1 training officer, flipped to the easiest recipe from a cookbook and baked our first batch of cookies. Initially, the beneficiaries could only be involved in scooping the dough onto the trays as most of them had challenges reading the weighing scale and recognizing ingredients. We also stayed away from complicated shapes and designs as cookie cutting required levelling skills that our beneficiaries could not handle then.

Over time however, we managed to train them in the various aspects and today, we have different types of cookies and other baked treats to boast of!

MINDS Bakers cookies, tarts, biscuits and muffins are based on healthier recipes using less sugar and sans-preservatives. All products are produced in kitchens handling nuts, dairy and gluten. Though we are not halal certified, we adhere strictly to the use of halal certified ingredients. Our kitchen also does not use pork, lard and non-halal certified ingredients.

We offer a wide variety of packaging and customised solutions for weddings, birthday parties and corporate events.

Take a look at our treats and be amazed by them.
