The popularity of our previous feature, Wedding Planners Share Their Top 8 Wedding Venues in and Around Kuala Lumpur, was really encouraging, so we decided to create a sequel about wedding venues in Bali – everyone’s favourite tropical island getaway!
In this feature we present to you the top wedding venues in Bali, as recommended by some of Bali’s most popular wedding planners – who’ve not only provided these recommendations, but also generously shared fascinating historical nuggets, cherished memories, and tips on when to visit!
Paper Diamonds: There are many things about the Uluwatu cliffs that take my breath away and standing on the lawns of what essentially is a museum overlooking the Indian Ocean is one of my favourite things to do. Khayangan Estate, which translates to “Seventh Heaven” is so well thought out, it hurts. An exquisite collection of ten antique wooden houses from Java, created during the noble eras, your jaw literally drops at the sight of the intricately carved wooden beams and panels as you walk through the buildings, some as old as 150 years.
The lawn, which is ridiculously generous, can host a party of up to 250 guests – yet is intimate enough for smaller weddings. You can never run short of inspiration when designing an event here. The areas are split up to accommodate all the different parts of your day, so you and your guests get to experience the entire estate.
Cher Ange Weddings & Events: This is a magnificent clifftop venue with a dramatic view and massive lawns, and it can accommodate anywhere from 50-300 guests.
Bali Wedding Paradise: Located at Uluwatu’s cliffs, this six-bedroom private villa is the best wedding venue on the island. The drinks and reception can be held in different areas, it has a stunning ocean view, beautiful sunsets, a good layout, and unique architecture. Most photographers say that it has lots of good photo spots. Having your wedding at a private villa means that you can choose your own vendors based on your budget and, of course, it is private.
Venue Capacity: 50 – 300 guests, up to 250 for seated receptions
Price: From USD 26,000 on weekdays and USD 31,000 on weekends

Paper Diamonds: Sitting 100 meters atop the southern tip of Uluwatu’s cliffs, this resort is like nothing else in Bali, or the world for that matter. Award-winning architecture by Singapore firm WOHA breaks all the rules when it comes to what you thought you knew about tropical architectural design. As you enter the main lobby, you’re met with seamless lines and neutral palettes followed by a 50-metre cliff-edge infinity pool. Those now-famous cliffside cabanas are the perfect spot to sit and be surrounded by unending skies and ocean views.
There are multiple areas and ways you can host your wedding here, from intimate small gatherings to large full-resort buyouts for up to 400 guests. The menus on offer, led by Head Chef Marc Lores Panades, ensure that food and beverage options for your event are of the highest quality, and the team that will assist you and your guests honestly cannot get any better. The events team are always on-point, and working with them is like having an extension of our own team on-site, which means seamless events.
Cher Ange Weddings & Events: This is a beautiful wedding space with an exceptional cliffside ceremony space above the ocean. It’s great for small to big weddings.
Bali Wedding Paradise: It has a unique wedding cabana, and this type of boutique resort only has a small number of bedrooms (about 56 rooms), so it is easy for couples to book out the whole resort to get privacy. They also have a three-bedroom private villa which can host small wedding receptions privately, after the ceremony at the cabana. It is good for hosting small and intimate weddings of up to 400 guests.
Venue capacity: Up to 400 guests
Price: From IDR 43,999,999 nett for Hilltop weddings. From USD 32,000 for weddings with 50 guests at cliffside lawn and dinner at the villa.

3. Soori Bali
Paper Diamonds: When a resort makes the list for Top 50 Best Beach Hotels in the World and is part of The Leading Hotels of the World, you know you’re onto something special. Designed, owned, and operated by renowned architect Soo K. Chan, inspired by local colours, crafts and materials, and situated on the West Coast of Bali with perfect sunset views, there are so many things I love about this venue. It starts with the journey there, driving past and through authentic Balinese villages before arriving at the entrance of Soori Bali, surrounded by rice paddies. On a clear day, you’re treated to a view of Bali’s most holy mountains in the distance. Just beyond the entrance to Soori Bali lies Bali’s famous black sand beaches and a holy bat cave underneath a still-functioning Balinese temple perched on a small cliff. I mean, that’s kind of incredible.
An event here, for us, really is a joy. Not only do I love this part of Bali as it is, but the events here seem to feel a little different from elsewhere. The fact that it’s so isolated and in the middle of two of Bali’s greatest gifts – rice paddies and oceans – should be enough, but you are also in the midst of high-end luxury design and working with a team that only has your best interests at heart, and it really is that. So much heart.
Venue capacity: Up to 200
Price: From USD 3,850++
Cher Ange Weddings & Events: Villa Bayuh Sabbha is a great wedding villa with a stupendous lawn overseeing the cliffs. It’s perfect for intimate weddings.
Venue capacity: Up to 80 guests
Price: USD 2750 ++ (for up to 50 guests), USD 3850 ++ (for over 50 guests), and Rp 4,000,000 Local Community (Banjar) Fee for any group of 25 pax or more

The villa has a big lawn next door which can accommodate sitting dinners of up to 200 guests. It boasts beautiful Balinese architecture and has a good layout.
