An arch of pale pastel florals and peachy-hued bouquets on W Singapore Sentosa Cove’s lawn enchanted guests and suggested the first buds of spring for Han Wei and Sylvia’s ceremony. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, this series of captures by Terry of One Eye Click shares the bride and groom’s exchange of vows and their sweet first moments as man and wife.
How did you meet?
“We met in Sydney, Australia during our university days.” ~ Sylvia
What was the proposal like?
“Han Wei proposed during a trip to Phuket. He hired a photographer to secretly take pictures of us spending time together and also during the proposal.” ~ Sylvia
What was your theme and colour palette?
“We wanted something really cheery and happy with loads of flowers for the solemnisation ceremony. I left the decorations/styling to both my sisters. They DIY-ed the picture frames and decorations for the ceremony.” ~ Sylvia
Do you have any tips and wedding advice for other brides and grooms-to-be?
“As most of our common friends are based overseas, we had a lot of guests who flew in for the wedding. Hence I think it's important to plan and inform them of the date – preferably a Saturday dinner so that they can fly in on Saturday and fly out on a Sunday without having to take additional leave from work – as early as 6 to 9 months in advance.
Other than that, the wedding is all about the bride and groom. Choose a theme that is important/significant to both parties and leave the rest to the professionals so that the couple can relax and enjoy the day. The day will pass really quickly; if you're busy making decisions and keeping tabs on what is next on the program, you won't be able to enjoy one of the most important days of your lives.” ~ Sylvia
Congratulations on your marriage and the birth of your little bundle of joy, Han Wei and Sylvia! May your marriage be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
