How did you two meet?
"We met in school in 2004 on a volunteering trip to Malaysia and have been together since 2005."
Tell us about how you approached planning your wedding.
"For the wedding venue, we were insistent on not having a venue with “4 walls”. We wanted a very relaxed atmosphere. Nosh was decided upon as it ticked off all the boxes – able to accommodate 200 guests, had an outdoor area that allowed guests to mingle and indoor seating for VIPs.
The solemnisation took place in the early evening at Nosh with family members present. The weather was beautiful and we thank God for that! We wanted the wedding dinner to be like a huge gathering of friends and family, where we could walk around to talk to friends and they could also move around during the dinner as they wish, instead of a ‘sit down’ dinner. Instead of a photobooth, caricaturists were engaged so that both the young and the young at heart could have fun."
How did you decorate your venue and did you undertake any DIY projects?
"There was a lot of DIY in the wedding. I designed the wedding programs for the solemnisation, and DIY efforts were made by a close friend and myself to turn the program into a fan. The wedding invitation was also designed by one of the bridesmaids. Leng Chye's sister painstakingly styled the wedding venue with ideas sourced from Pinterest. She and the bridal party decorated the venue before the solemnisation. This included the hanging of honeycombs and buntings. Leng Chye's aunt was the chief florist (she volunteers in church as a florist) and sourced and provided the floral arrangements." ~ Yen Ting
What sort of wedding favors did you opt for, and why?
"We chose jam jars as wedding favors, as we wanted something practical for our guests. Also, we decorated the mini jars with cloth in the same color theme as the floral arrangements (yellow and purple) and also added a self-designed tag (Jam packed with love) for an extra touch!"
Congratulations on your marriage, Leng Chye and Yen Ting! May you have many beautiful years ahead of you.
