You've seen their bohemian engagement shoot in a teepee, now get ready to pour over Abery and Valerie's beautiful real wedding at One Rochester! We just love the bride's handmade flower crown and brooch bouquet...
How did you meet?
We met at Zouk through mutual friends. We have the same taste in music and hobbies and that brought us even closer. Abery was a DJ back then.
How did Abery propose?
He proposed to me at Marina Barrage with a bouquet of flowers, banners, a script of lovely words that touched me and of course, a ring!
What was the theme, style and colour palette of your wedding?
The theme and style for our wedding ceremony was rustic garden, vintage and shabby chic and our colour palette was a mix of ivory, purple and champagne.
How did you decorate your venue?
I wanted a personal touch to our wedding so I decided to DIY most of the décor, props and accessories. Hand making things is one of my favourite hobbies.
What sort of wedding favours did you opt for, and why?
We gave our guests skeleton keys that came with a tag which said, “Key To A Happy Marriage. A secret & special time we all share with family and friends. Love, Abery & Valerie”. Skeleton keys are commonly used as escort cards. I adore vintage keys and they fitted so well with our wedding theme. Instead of using them as escort cards, I decided to have them as wedding favours to symbolise keys to love, peace and happiness.
Congratulations on your marriage Abery and Valerie! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
