Amidst the warm glow of hundreds of hanging lightbulbs, it seems like Andrew and Bora's wedding at Khayangan Estate, Uluwatu in Bali stepped out of a dream. Their big day was captured by none other than Axioo, whose signature style made the decor's rustic charm all the more beautiful.
What made you choose to have your wedding in Bali?
“I proposed to Bora one year prior at the W in Bali. I managed to do a few things with the proposal that I couldn't have done in Australia (e.g. private dinner overlooking beach, and fireworks after she said, "Yes.") So we then thought, "Why not have our wedding in Bali?" All our families and friends would be able to enjoy a holiday too. Our families and friends were based mostly between Korea and Australia (with some coming from Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan), so Bali was the perfect mid-point.
About 2 months later we flew back to Bali over a long weekend for 3 days of intensive property inspections, food tastings and meetings with various vendors. During those 3 days, we probably saw close to 30 properties, met with 5 wedding planners, 3 wedding photographers and tasted food from 3 different caterers. It was intense but exciting and fun at the same time, because we basically experienced the best Bali has to offer!
We decided to go with Khayangan Estate because of the beautiful cliff top setting and the intimacy that comes with having our own venue where our respective families can stay together.” ~ Andrew
What are some of your highlights from the big day?
“We couldn't have wished for more for our wedding; everything went perfectly. Some of the highlights for me included the beautiful clifftop ceremony with a string quartet, our fathers dancing to "Gangnam style" together, Bora's brothers singing a duet for us, our guests completely clearing out all the supposed "all-you-can-drink" catering we had purchased, and the pool party with all our friends after the wedding (we finally managed to get out of our suits in the stifling heat!).” ~ Andrew
Congratulations on your marriage, Andrew and Bora! May it be every bit as beautiful as your wedding!
