This vivacious couple held their outdoor solemnisation and reception in the green surrounds of the Singapore Botanic Gardens followed by a rousing after party at Overeasy! There is so much eye candy in these images from the pretty parasols, cobalt blue bridesmaid dresses to the floral arch complete with hanging chandelier that we just can't bear to keep you any longer, get reading Wedding Scoopers! :)
Dinesh and Janani have known each other since Junior College but only became close when they were 19, while Dinesh was serving in the army. One day, one of Dinesh’s groomsmen, Haran, sent his entire MSN contact list to him as Dinesh had lost all his contacts. Since Janani was on Haran’s list, she became added and the two of them got to talking. Several dates later, Dinesh officially asked Jan to be his girlfriend!
The first few years of their relationship were predominantly long distance as Dinesh had left for Melbourne to start university. They ensured they kept in touch constantly however and would talk on the phone, watch shows online, webcam and text.
On New Years Eve, Dinesh brought us to the Hilton in Melbourne City and checked us in to a room that overlooked the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the city that gave us a great view of the fireworks which I am crazy about. After checking in, Dinesh said he was getting a call from the restaurant he had booked for our dinner and since he didn’t want me to know where we were going for dinner, he left the room to take the call. He took a long while though, and I was wondering what special dinner this was that needed so much preparation. Later I discovered that Dinesh was actually calling my parents to ask for permission to propose, to which my father said, “It’s about time!” ~ Janani
After dinner and while watching the midnight fireworks in their room, Dinesh suddenly left Janani’s side and went to the bedroom area. When he got back, Janani patted his pocket, suspecting that he had gone to take the ring but the pocket was empty. However, the ring was actually in his other pocket! While the fireworks were still going on, Dinesh opened the box, revealing a beautiful ring with a teardrop-shaped diamond. He said that the past six years had been the best years of his life and then asked Janani to marry him. Janani of course said, “Yes!”
Congratulations Dinesh and Janani!
